EVAN PEREZ PORTFOLIO

Evan Perez (They/He)
Evan Perez is a multimedia artist who was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. In 2023, he graduated from Stetson University with a bachelor’s degree in digital arts. While his primary focus is on 3D modeling, he occasionally dabbles and experiments with other mediums such as music production, video editing and graphic design. He likes to draw inspiration from his somewhat pessimistic view of the world in hopes of creating a wide variety of pieces. Oftentimes, Evan relishes in quiet contemplation and reflection, which he builds upon in whatever medium he is drawn to at the moment, with the purpose of creating pieces that express his thoughts and feelings into the world.
Artist Statement
I am a young multimedia artist that works primarily with 3D modeling and video editing. But occasionally I’ll work in other fields like music production and graphic design. Whether it’s a 3D environment, a music track, posters for an event, or something completely different, I aim to create often-humorous artistic pieces that reveal the many problems faced by young adults today.
I draw from current and past experiences in order to highlight themes of anxiety, depression, jealousness, isolation, nostalgia and more. As a quiet and shy kid in school, I liked to keep to myself and not speak my mind very much. Because of this, I enjoy making pieces for myself first and foremost as a way to get my thoughts out into the world.
Growing up with ADHD, the fragmented focus in attention span has been a major struggle in making pieces. Oftentimes, the end result is completely different from what I envision. While I can be extremely eager to finish a project or piece, many times it’ll end up on the cutting room floor or may even be scrapped entirely.
One of the main inspirations for me was the fact that I originally wanted to pursue a career in computer science, but decided to switch my major to digital arts after a few years. This means I’ve only been in the digital arts program for about two years. With this comes unfair expectations to produce pieces of similar quality to my peers, some of whom have been working much longer than I have.
While I've only been making pieces for a couple years, that doesn’t deter me from trying to leave my artistic stamp on the world. I've realized that our time on Earth is limited, and so I try to enjoy it as much as I can through various artistic mediums.
